An old blog entry that wasn't published and thought Paper Mache needed to be spoken about - (dated 12/10/2010
You know how you really like an artist or a musician...? Tthe way they play the guitar or the keyboard with such ease? Well, I saw that happening today... A friend of mine Suhit had his band Paper Mache debut show tonight over at Lamakaan where 90% of the songs were covers of Coldplay... some by Beatles...not that I'm complaining, it was a fun night for those who listen to that kinda music.
That does include people like me as well... Now of course noone expects me to blog about this because hardly anyoneknows about this new blog of mine... which I'm experimenting with...ok coming back to the point... So here's what I thought of the band on the whole.
I simply loved the idea of how each of the guys were taking turns singing and playing other instruments.
Be it instrumental covers like Life in Technicolour or Scarborough Fair, these guys were the bomb... oh did I mention on the Violin was played by the only girl in the group Ritu Gopal. Kudos to her.
While the guys, James was a little shakey on his vocals while Suhit did have his ups and downs especially in songs like The Scientist.

Effing lyrics
Writing lyrics of a song aren't as easy as i thought it'd be... So i tried writing a couple of lines just you know from my heart and all that jazz... I'm pretty sure i suck at it.
Aight aight enough with the negative...
Now the positive side... Once you're done writing a line or two and think it sounds nice enough...the fun part is when you're looking at it again after a few twenty times you think. "WHAT THE EFF WAS I THINKING..!!" and laugh your ass off... As for me.. There ain't no giving up that easy

The unfinished
They always complain about how I don't finish things... I start something new, get bored or distracted and I don't finish!
Urgh! it's true I cant finish...except the only things I finish are my education, food and paintings....my jewelery too but not a design. I came up with this idea to cover up a shirt that i loved but had stains on and figured out a way to do some patch work on the shirt and again I did have the shirt and left it on the hanger.
I am a true addict of Procrastinating and honestly i'm not proud of that!!
Well here's to hoping I finish my projects....
Quest for answers
Walking a few hundred miles per year
I stumble across the obstacles that are through in front of me
Not knowing how to jump over them or how to avoid them, I began my search answers and solutions to the problems I face.
Taking to the path to make dreams come true,
roads have been blocked for several reasons unknown.
Interests to learn the things I want to, only add to the utter confusion.
Be it writing, be it designing, or even...I don't know what else.
so on this quest for answers,
which of course is like digging in areas that have black soil to find gold
Or even better looking at all the other windows but the one i want
if that even makes sense!

Start of something new?!
So couple of days ago, I walk into this music store in my neighborhood, i'll tell you this, I've never felt so stupid before. For those who don't know much music....my advice based on personal experience...
NEVER walk into a music store that sells instruments when you DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU WANT! Or even worse when you're a beginner with music knowledge with a zero.zero% like mine!
Well not for long atleast...
I've been doing a lot of reading on western classical Maestro's like Bach, Chopin...my fav Beethovan and the likes. Wow They have got some really complex music skills man, like there was this peace by I think Edward Elgar and I was checking out the sheet music for this song called Salut d' Amor...OMG insane man! If only I understood what was written there! I know basic notes but thats just about it!
However sometimes I wonder if I should have listened to my mum and gone through the long hours of practice in guitar class for which I lost patience. I write lyrics with tunes I cannot translate into music only because I can't play the guitar.
I mean the only two songs I know are Pink Flyod's Wish you were here and now Beethovan's Fur Elise...which btw I think is totally cool! Oh well, I guess it's a start and every story/journey has a start no matter how early or late right??

Welcome to The Blah world
Hello from the world of the Blah where music meets fashion, fashion meets random art, art meets food and food meets me.
